The 50 to 75 ton class of the Entwicklung program is the Panther III - the standard medium tank in most Wehrmacht '47® panzer units. It had a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour and had frontal armour 120mm thick. The main gun was the vaunted 88mm gun, mounted in the Schmal Turm ('narrow turret') with an improved Saukopfblende ('pig's head mantlet').
