Mounted on the M548 cargo carrier the MIM-72 / M48 Chaparral entered service in 1967. Armed with four AIM-9 sidewinder missiles it remains a viable, albeit aging, air defense system. Although no longer in US service it remains in the inventories of Taiwan, Egypt, Morocco, and Portugal.
